1972 Yamaha XS650 Hardtail Bobber
The "Old Guru" from Texas, USA, made available these pictures of his magnificent 1972 Yamaha XS650 Hardtail Bobber.
The Old Guru: "1972 Yamaha XS650 hardtail. Heavily modified frame has been chopped and lowered. Bike sits low and long. Motor looks like it's spilling out on both sides, giving it a very fat look. Gas tank is early Japanese, very slim, which also enhances the size of the motor.
Motor has been converted to CDI ignition. Has electric and kick start. Short, polished headers with chrome glass-packed ends. Gives a very loud, mellow sound. Has stock-size sprockets and chain. Also is running stock carbs and K&N air pods highlighted with gold trim. 50's model BSA rear brake switch.
Sprayed House of Color metallic with clear coat on top. La Pera solo seat, tuck and roll with polished underbelly. Drag-style handlebars, new Drag Specialties speedo, new grips with 1/4-turn throttle, aftermarket chrome headlight, Triumph-style override springs in front, vintage Honda front rim with oversized brake hub. Also has polished aluminum battery box. Horn is vintage late 60s, hidden underneath. Highway bars are Drag Specialites aftermarket."
The Old Guru: "Bike has functional front and back brakes, speedo, high/low beam, horn, and key switch. Should be street legal in most states. Does not have blinkers."
